NZ 4×4 Treks
Trips run through the South Island high country and fill well ahead of the season, so if you have a particular date in mind it pays to ask early. Have a look at the 2027 Program before you get in touch.

How do I book a 4WD tour?
Email steve@4x4treks.co.nz, call 021 924 427, or send a message through this page. Let us know which itinerary interests you and roughly when you want to travel.
Can I get a current itinerary?
Yes. Itineraries change as new tracks and station access come available, so ask for the latest version rather than working from an older copy.
When does the season run?
February to April. Bookings are taken all year round and trips are often booked well in advance.
What is included in the trip fee?
Motel type accommodation, evening meals with the team, your guide for the trip, station crossing fees and prizegiving.
Do I need my own 4WD?
For the New Zealand tours, yes. You drive your own vehicle as part of a small convoy with radio contact between vehicles.
Do you run international trips?
Yes. Mongolia, Patagonia, the Himalayas, Africa and the Simpson Desert. See the international tours.
