Explore the Outback Icons of Birdsville, the Simpson Desert, William Creek, Oodnadatta Track, Maree, Birdsville Track, Innamincka and The Dig Tree (among others) on this fantastic 11 day trek.

We’ve taken away the hassle and uncertainty of organising a trip like this and the risk of doing it alone. Your guide is experienced in leading remote tours and a qualified four wheel driving instructor, so even if you’re not experienced in Outback travel, you will be coached along the way. You will come away from a trip like this with 4WD skills to last you a lifetime.

Starting in Windorah at the edge of the sealed roads, we take you to the most iconic Outback town, Birdsville, and the most notorious sand dune in the country, Big Red for a “Sand Driving Master Class“. After two nights in Birdsville, we travel South along the Birdsville Track and then take some of the lesser travelled Desert tracks, spending 4 nights crossing the Simpson.

Emerging from the Simpson at Dalhousie Springs, we follow the Oodnadatta and Birdsville Tracks to encircle Lake Eyre. (There’s an option of a scenic flight over Lake Eyre from William Creek). After a night in Innamincka and a visit to The Dig Tree, we head East through Noccundra and end the tour back on the sealed road at Cunnamulla.
